Welcome to the 2023 Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference

The Georgia Undergraduate Research Conference is a regional, multidisciplinary conference open to undergraduates both within Georgia and beyond. GURC 2023 will be hosted by Valdosta State University in Valdosta, Georgia, on November 10th & 11th, 2023. We invite you to join us for this 12th annual conference to present your research, performances, or artwork and to learn more about the exciting undergraduate work being conducted by other students in the region. GURC welcomes all fields of research and creative activities.

Important Dates

  • Abstract Submissions Extended Deadline September 24, 2023
  • Faculty Reviews due back by September 29, 2023
  • Student Acceptance/Non-Acceptance Letters sent beginning October 1, 2023
  • Registration/Accommodations Opens online September 15  (onsite registration Nov. 10 & 11 will be cash or check only)
  • Student wanting to apply for Best Paper or Best Poster Contest must have the final project in by Oct. 15.
  • Agenda Published as soon as we can get students to register. (Payment can be later).

Face-to-Face or Webinar Options

Students should state in their abstracts if they want face-to-face option ($50.00 registration fee) or Webinar option ($20.00 registration fee). 

On-Site option will include a Friday night reception and Saturday breakfast and lunch.

Best in Category Prizes

Students (both f2f and Webinar) will be considered for these prizes.  Finished projects must be sent to our VSU email by October 15, 2023 for consideration. There is no "template" for the entries.  However, they should reflect the best practices of the field of study.  They should be APA, MLA, Chicago, or other appropriate style.

About GURC

GURC strives to be the premiere Southeastern regional undergraduate research and creative conference. This conference is hosted once a year to promote original student scholarship conducted with faculty and staff mentors. GURC also serves as a networking conference to assist undergraduates with career and graduate school opportunities.
