VSU Teagle Alumni

This page is dedicated to our incredible Teagle Fellows. Many of our students go on to colleges across the southwest, and we keep up with their achievements post completion of our program. Take a look at what our students have done!

Since our program began in 2022, we have reached a variety of schools and counties in the South Georgia Wiregrass Region. Take a look at the schools we served!

Teagle Humanities Fellowship

High school seniors and college freshmen are able to apply for the Teagle Humanities Fellowship. If accepted, these students receive $1,000 to participate in the reading and writing fellowship. Accepted students receive two books to read during a summer and are partnered with an academic mentor who discusses texts with students. Upon completion of the texts, an essay is written by the Teagle Fellow and posted online through a major educational source. From Valdosta State University's Teagle program, three students have gone on the accomplish this task.

Sanovia Woods finished the summer seminar for Teagle in 2025 and recently completed the Teagle Humanities Fellowship.
