Students should submit apply for a pre-service certificate to the Georgia Professional Standards Commission through their MyPSC account. Here is some useful information about the process. 

  • Students must be admitted into teacher education and claim enrollment before you attempt to submit your Pre-Service Certificate application. 
  • Students must upload an electronic copy of their driver's license (or other citizenship evidence) and a notarized affidavit along with their application. A blank copy of an affidavit and additional directions are provided in the admission email sent to the student.
  • Students do NOT need to pay any money for the application (just click the Next button to go to the next page).
  • Students that have recently passed the Georgia Educator Ethics Assessment within the past week or so, may not have the Pre-Service Certificate application option yet in their MyPSC account. The GaPSC must receive the student’s records from the testing company, ETS, before they allow the student to apply. This process happens automatically.
  • Upon submission, it may take 2-4 weeks for processing.
