PSST Auditions and holds Technical Interviews in the spring for each season's company.

PSST will be auditioning performers for PRINCIPAL, ACTOR-TECH, and ENSEMBLE positions.  

As of  2/26/2020 the majority of Principal roles have been cast. PSST is attending SETC in search of Actor-Techs (actor/singer/dancers who have tech skills in carpentry, paint, electrics, costumes); Ensemble (ensemble for CINDERELLA and THE MUSIC MAN, run crew for THE MARVELOUS WONDERETTES: DREAM ON) and a number of tech positions.

Atlanta Auditions

PSST will be holding auditions by appointment on January 11, 2020 at Atlanta Lyric Theatre's Studio in the Square.  Please submit audition form along with photo and resume.  Appointments will be scheduled between 10 AM and 4 PM based on the materials received.  There will be a dance call beginning at approximately 4:15 that afternoon. The dance call should end by 6 PM.  Prepare a classic musical song.  See possible call back materials below, under A1 Auditions.

A1 Auditions in New York. 

PSST has again been invited to participate in the A1 Auditions.  We will be seeing AEA and Non-Equity actors there January 16 & 17, 2020 for principal roles. 
A1 will be operating and managing these auditions.

PSST will hold callbacks on Saturday, January 18, 2020, at The Growing Studio, 344 W. 38th Street, 4th Floor., NYC.  Call back appointment required.

SETC Professional Auditions, February 27-29, 2020, Louisville, KY  

SETC will be operating and managing these auditions.

PSST will also be participating in SETC's Theatre Job Fair and on-site interviews for tech and front-of-house positions within the company.

Local Auditions - details.

Local Auditions for the Peach State Summer Theatre 2020 season are scheduled for Sunday, January 26, 2020 (check in begins at 12 Noon with an info meeting at 12:30 PM followed by acting/singing auditions, then a dance audition) in Sawyer Theatre of the Fine Arts Building on the campus of Valdosta State University. Please note, all audition materials (forms, headshots, and resumes) must be received 5 days in advance of the audition (1/22/2020).

Auditionees are expected to present:
* a one-minute light or comic monologue
* a 30-60 second vocal selection from the musical theatre repertoire. 
The monologue and song must be memorized and should not take longer than two minutes in total.

An accompanist is provided.  Please make sure all sheet music is clearly marked. 
The use of any recorded accompaniment or a cappella singing is prohibited.

Following the singing portion of the audition all Auditionees are asked to attend a dance audition, where a short combination will be taught.  Please bring appropriate dancewear and jazz or character
shoes. The dance audition will be performed in small groups.

After the audition, Artistic Director, Jacque Wheeler and Managing Director, Duke Guthrie will be  available to answer questions.

CHILDREN'S AUDITIONS: PSST will be casting children for the 2020 season.  Sunday, January 26, 2020 check-in will begin at 4:00 PM.

Children, if needed for the productions, would need to prepare a portion of a song.  They should bring their sheet music to the audition.  An accompanist will be provided. They will also be asked to read from a script. (See Amaryllis and Winthrop scenes above)  Children should click the links in the paragraph above for information and to submit the audition form.

A mandatory briefing is scheduled for the beginning of the children's audition (approximately 4:20 PM). Auditions will begin immediately following the briefing.

The Performance Company consists of...

  • One or two AEA Guest Artists.
  • A category of actors playing leads and major supporting in 2 or 3 shows.
  • Actor/Techs who play supporting or ensemble roles in 2 shows and assist with the build and change-overs with all three shows.
  • Ensemble members who are in 2 or 3 shows as members of the ensemble, they  run the third show, they assist with change-overs for all three shows.
  • All company members (less AEA) participate in Final Strikes.
