The Mass Media Program at Valdosta State University allows students to concentrate in one of four emphasis areas: Broadcast Journalism, Video, Audio, and International Documentary Production. Students are encouraged to take courses in multiple emphases to better learn the various media. The BFA is a professional degree, preparing students for immediate placement in media industries. Students are highly encouraged to participate in the many production opportunities available in News, Sports Broadcasting, Narrative Moviemaking, Radio, and Documentary Production. |
The Mass Media Program has been recognized and received several national awards by the Society For Collegiate Journalists, the Broadcast Education Association and the National Broadcasting Society. Mass Media graduates are in demand in multiple industries, including news, radio, television, sports broadcasting, narrative and corporate production. Students are trained on industry standard equipment with a nationally-ranked computer infrastructure. |
