Blazer Creed

Valdosta State University is a learning environment based on trust and mutual respect in which open dialogue, vigorous debate, and the free exchange of ideas are welcome. The University is equally dedicated to the core values of community, including a commitment to practice civility, integrity, and citizenship. As members of this community and proud Blazers, we will strive to uphold these core values for the advancement of the University.

Mission & Vision

"In collaboration with other campus stakeholders, we will strive to promote knowledge of responsibility and encourage civility, integrity, and citizenship.  The Office of Student Conduct and Title IX provides services and corrective actions that will protect educational access, advance gender equity, and prevent and respond to harassment and discrimination on campus.  We will connect those affected by discrimination or other means of harm, to campus and community resources that will allow them a positive path forward.”

The Office of Student Conduct & Title IX's vision is to assist the campus in navigating compliance standards that allow us to increase holistic growth and development, and work toward a community free from discrimination, harassment, and harm. Our vision is consistent with the mission and goals of the University System of Georgia (USG), the Institution (VSU), and the standards of the Council for the Advancement of Standards in Higher Education (CAS).

Goals of Our Office

  1. Increase awareness of programs and processes for all campus constituents.
  2. Interpret, disseminate, and promote university (and where applicable, state and federal) regulations and standards to students, faculty, staff, parents, and the university community, in an effort to ensure compliance with our code of conduct.
  3. Serve as a resource for students, faculty, staff, parents, and the university community concerning student rights as outlined in the code of conduct and through Title IX.
  4. Facilitate, with dignity, the resolution of concerns and disputes at the lowest level possible.
  5. Provide guidance and education on the value of both academic and sexual integrity, while also nurturing students’ (and employees') intellectual, social, physical, and mental wellbeing.
