Information for Master of Social Work Applicants

The Master of Social Work Student Information sessions provide information regarding the Master of Social Work Program at Valdosta State University and the application process. The sessions include presentations on social work as a career, Master of Social Work coursework, field practicums, and admissions. There will also be opportunities for informal discussions and question/answer time. Register for a session today!

Social Work Fair

The Social Work Fair is an exciting time for prospective students to learn about the MSW program. The Social Work Fair differs from the MSW Prospective Student Information Sessions in that it is held on the beautiful campus of Valdosta State University. Additionally, the Social Work Fair provides students with an opportunity to meet with faculty, the admissions director, current field instructors, current students, and alumni.

Parking and Campus Maps

The Student Information Session will be held in the Valdosta State University Student Union on Oak Street. Parking is available in the Oak Street Parking Lot directly across the street. You may park without a permit in the Oak Street parking lot on the day of the event. Please do not park in handicapped, 24 hour reserved or fire lanes (unless you are authorized).

VSU Parking Information & Campus Maps are available online. Please feel free to contact Felicia Hilson at the Department of Social Work if you need further assistance with registration, parking or maps.

Current Master of Social Work Students and Social Work Agencies

Current Master of Social Work Students: All current Master of Social Work students are strongly encouraged to attend Social Work Career Day - no reservation is necessary unless you plan to participate in the optional lunch ($10 in advance).

Social Work Agency Representatives: Invitations for the Social Work Fair will be mailed to social work agencies that regularly host Valdosta State University practicum students. There will also be a Field Instructor Workshop the morning of the Social Work Fair. If you are an agency representative and would like a table at the career fair - or wish to participate in the Field Instructor Workshop, please return the reservation card or complete the on-line registration form.
