VSU Hosts Spring Wellness Fair Tuesday, March 9
VALDOSTA -- Valdosta State University’s Wellness Committee will
host the spring wellness fair from 9 a.m. until noon Tuesday, March
9, in the Student Union ballrooms.
Faculty and staff can take advantage of the health screenings, free
massages, informational booths, healthy refreshments and giveaways
that have become trusted features of the wellness fair. From 8-9
a.m., medical professionals will administer all free health
screenings. People interested in participating in the free
screenings should not eat or drink anything after midnight before
the test.
Participants are encouraged to enjoy free Tai Chi and yoga
instruction, learn about Weight Watchers, and explore ways to
reduce stress. Free cholesterol and blood pressure readings as well
as Body Mass Index (BMI) tests will be available. Health and
wellness practitioners will be on hand to answer questions and
distribute general nutrition and fitness information.
