Memorial Portrait Unveiling at VSU's Farber Health Center
Former Valdosta State University President Hugh C. Bailey along
with Robert Kellner, director for Auxiliary Services, will speak
during the portrait unveiling ceremonies Monday, February 26,
honoring the late Dr. Mack Greer, past physician and director for
Farber Health Services. The event will take place at 3:30 pm at the
Farber Health Center. Close family members will also speak and
unveil the memorial portrait of Dr. Greer, donated by wife Betty
Greer, to hang inside the center.
Dr. Greer worked for Valdosta State University for over 20 years,
not only as a physician and director, but also as an associate
professor of biology.
“Dr. Greer, the best of the best, was many things in my life - the
best physician that I have ever met, a teacher, a friend, and a
father figure: he helped to raise me,” Rita Collins, head nurse for
Farber Health Services, said. “To know him was an honor, privilege,
and a blessing.”
Dr. Greer retired in December 1994. He passed away in September
2002.
