b'Community-Based Service-Learning Initiatives: Grand Bay Wetland Education CenterBralin Allen, Cyle Clark, Hailey Wilkinson, and Leah FisherSponsor: Dr. Colin WalkerFor the Spring of 2021, four students were chosen to create content for the Grand Bay Wetland Education Center. This community-based service-learning opportunity with the Grand Bay Wetland Education provided myself and my classmates Bralin Allen, Cyle Clark, and Hailey Wilkinson with a unique opportunity to help educate the future leaders of America. Our role in this class is to produce educational material about the wildlife and animals at Grand Bay. These video lessons will be shown to various classes to replace the typical field trips that Grand Bay would facilitate for 3rd -7th grade students. Our mission is to educate the younger population, which directly corresponds to the mission of the Harley Langdale Jr. Foundation. We hope to produce a two-to-three-minute video weekly which highlights a specific animal. In these videos we have incorporated an animated online assistant who serves to keep the students engaged. At the end of every lesson, we provide review questions to test how well the students comprehended the material presented to them. Alongside these weekly videos, we are creating social media posts that can be shared on various platforms to promote the video lessons and Grand Bay as a whole. 28'
