RomeroSponsor: Dr. Bobbie Ticknor, Department of Criminal JusticeResearch was done over how Crime Victim Compensation programs are run in the United States. A total of ten states (Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Georgia, Kentucky, Maryland, Michigan, Minnesota, New Jersey, Virginia) were chosen to be studied on how their application processes worked and any potential issues that could dissuade victims from applying for victims compensation. Information on each states program was taken from available online resources. Using these resources, information was gathered on who serves on each of the states CVC fund boards and any unique regulations that the states have regarding victim application. Data was also used to show a side by side comparison between the individual states to see if there are any significant differences occurring in the payouts granted in each state.93'
