Blazer Ready

Blazer Ready is a professional development series provided to students to prepare for their career journey.

Students will attend 5 sessions covering the topics of Resume Development, Professional Dress, Professionalism in the Workplace/Emotional Intelligence, Cultivating Purposeful Relationships, Career Plan/Strategic Goal Setting and Conducting Effective Interviews. The student will meet with the Career Opportunities Career Counselors to demonstrate competencies through mock interviews in order to receive the certification.

Students that attend a total of 5 sessions to receive Certificate of Completion at the Night on Fire in the Spring.

Students can register to attend Blazer Ready events through Blazer Briefcase.


Fall Semester

September 18 - Creating Captivating Resumes

October 3-  Blazer Ready The Game Plan: Creating Captivating Resumes

October 16- Professionalism in the Work Place

November 6- Blazer Ready The Game Plan: Job Search Strategies/Networking

November 20- Professionalism in the Workplace/Emotional Intelligence

Spring Semester

January 22- Blazer Ready Series: Hiring Techniques Part 1

January 29- Blazer Ready Series: Hiring Techniques Part 2

February 20-  Blazer Ready Series: Developing A Career Plan & Strategic Goals

March 12- Blazer Ready Series: Conducting Effective Interviews

March 23- 27 – Competencies Week (students will meet with the team to demonstrate competencies through mock interviews in order to receive the certification)

If students attend and do not complete the competencies they will still receive a Certificate of Completion at the night on fire
