Blazer Ready Series, A Professional Certification is a developmental series provided to students to prepare for their career journey based on the National Association of Colleges and Employers (NACE) Professional Competencies: Critical Thinking/Problem Solving, Digital Technology, Leadership, Professionalism/Work Ethic, Career Management, Global/Intercultural Fluency, Teamwork/Collaboration, and Oral/Written Communication.
Students will attend 5 sessions covering the topics of Resume Development, Professional Dress, Professionalism in the Workplace/Emotional Intelligence, Cultivating Purposeful Relationships, Career Plan/Strategic Goal Setting, and Conducting Effective Interviews. The student will meet with the Career Opportunities Career Counselors to demonstrate competencies through mock interviews in order to receive the certification.
Students that attend a total of 5 sessions to receive Certificate of Completion at the Night on Fire in the Spring.
Students can register to attend Blazer Ready events through Blazer Briefcase.
January 14 - Blazer Ready Series: Cultivating Purposeful Relationships
February 23 - Blazer Ready Series: Developing A Career Plan/Strategic Goal Setting
March 24 - Blazer Ready Series: Conducting Effective Interviews
March 29 - April 2 – Competencies Week (students will meet with the Career Opportunities team to demonstrate competencies through mock interviews in order to receive the certification).
Requirements: Students who attend all 5 sessions and opt-out of demonstrating competencies can still receive the Certificate of Completion at the Night on Fire.
