Multicultural Greek Council
The Multicultural Greek Council strives to unify multicultural Greek-lettered organizations on the Valdosta State University campus by addressing, coordinating and developing strategic action plans; to unify organizations on the council, promote higher education, provide community services and enhance leadership.
“We, the members of the Multicultural Greek Council, believe that exemplifying the principles of Leadership, Scholarship, Service, Unity, and Cultural Awareness are values that help us to be a driving force in social progression. It is through this progression that we unite our community, country, and the world, for a higher standard and a better tomorrow.”

The Multicultural Greek Council participates in a deferred membership intake process. This may or may not occur each semester, depending on the chapter. In order to join an MGC organization, you must have completed at least 12 hours at VSU. Look for interest meetings that are held by the individual fraternities or sororities. At these meetings, you will receive a more in-depth view of the organization hosting the interest meeting both nationally and locally.
It is important that each interested student take the time to learn about the history, aims, and national programs of each organization before joining any MGC fraternity or sorority to fully appreciate and understand the depth of culturally based Greek Letter Organizations.
Current Valdosta State students with an established GPA may join at any time of their collegiate careers with a cumulative GPA of 2.50 or higher based on at least 12 or more credits and must be in good standing with the University.
