My educational training in criminal justice started in Taiwan, an island located in the Eastern Asia and is about one fourth of the size of Georgia. I obtained a bachelor degree from a police university, and was a police officer for several years. My MS degree in justice studies was earned from Arizona State University, and my doctoral education in criminal justice was completed at the University of Maryland, College Park. When I was a doctoral student at Maryland, I learned a wide variety of statistical techniques and worked for a data management project sponsored by the National Institute of Justice. These academic trainings along with my professional experience have equipped me with the skills I need to become a criminal justice teacher as well as a social scientist.

At Valdosta State, I am a full professor with tenure. I teach undergraduate and graduate courses in statistics, methods, law enforcement, comparative justice, and cybercrime. My stream of research has involved empirical studies in areas of police-community relations, juvenile delinquency, sentencing, and crimes across nations. My recent interests include cyber deviance and police cultures. I welcome students, colleagues, professionals, and friends to contact me or stop by my office for exchanges in our common interests.
