This week we are launching our Smart Community Corps Summer Internship Program webpage and application portal. As you know, a pair of chosen interns will work this summer with each Georgia Smart Community. For your project, we hope to hire one Georgia Tech student and one Valdosta State student (they can be undergraduate or graduate students). The interns can earn up to an $8k summer stipend which is being generously funded by Microsoft.

We need your help in getting the word out! If you know of any students that you are currently working with or might have an interest in your project and summer internship, please encourage them to apply!!

The Smart Community Corps (SCC) is the first statewide program of its kind for civic-minded students to gain hands on smart city experience. Working as a summer cohort and in community pairs, interns are placed into local municipalities to support smart technology projects that are dedicated to creating livable and equitable communities. In addition to a full-time summer stipend, SCC are provided curriculum programming in sustainability, innovation, career development and mentorship. The program is open to both Georgia Tech and other Georgia college undergraduate and graduate students.
