Career Preparation is a multifaceted career program designed to assist VSU Students in meeting their career goals; through partnerships with local, regional, and national employers to identify talent to enhance today's workforce. Focus on what you're great at and grow and develop the life skills desired by most employers and your community. Most workshops are offered in both a face-to-face and virtual format. If you are unable to attend a face-to-face event you may request a substitution. If you are enrolled in an academic leadership class a substitution for some requirements may also be available. Knowing how to create a diverse, and equitable environment where everyone can thrive, propels you to the top of the list of employable candidates with a DEIB skill set that can help any corporation compete and meet the needs of our globalized society. The Diversity and Inclusion Certificate helps you navigate sensitive topics with confidence and be equipped to understand beliefs and experiences across intersectional identities. Health & Wellbeing Certificate emphasizes the holistic approach to being a well-rounded, healthy individual by focusing on three areas of mind, body, and soul. Through campus events, interactive discussions and one-on-one coaching.The Health and Wellness Certificate focuses on the physical, social and emotional wellbeing skills to help you live a well-balanced life. Most workshops are offered in both a face-to-face and virtual format. If you are unable to attend a face-to-face event you may request a substitution. Leadership Development emphasizes community, integrity, active citizenship, responsibility, and collaboration. Leaders deal with rapid changes while transforming the basic values, beliefs and attitudes of followers to build organizational capacity for positive change. Take the steps in becoming a great leader with Blazer Ready. Most workshops are offered in both a face-to-face and virtual format. If you are unable to attend a face-to-face event you may request a substitution. If you are enrolled in an academic leadership class a substitution for some requirements may also be available. Volunteer Service is an important way to give to others in your community while also learning more about your own values and civic interests. You will also build important skills that employers and the community values while giving back to others. In total, you will complete 150 hours of volunteer service to earn the Volunteer Service tenet. Whether it’s what you do professionally or it’s a hobby, sharing your skills is critical to help prepare people on the inside for successful futures on the outside.
