General Studies Program

Welcome to the General Studies website!

General Studies is an interdisciplinary program which allows you, the student, to be in control of designing your educational program. The degree, a Bachelor of General Studies, is comprised of three academic areas of emphasis (18sh, 15sh and 12sh, respectively). You may choose from any discipline offered as a major or minor at VSU, with the exception of Education, Nursing and Interior Design.

There are two Tracks for General Studies:

  • Track 1 is open to students who are active-duty military or who have been out of school for at least two years.
  • Track 2 is open to all students with a minimum gpa of 2.5.

Andrea Woodard receives the 2007-2008 General Studies Award for Academic Excellence Andrea Woodard
