Tom Hardy

Dr. Thomas W. Hardy has been employed in several different higher education institutions including Florida State University, Maryville College, and The University of Alabama. He joined the VSU as the Director of Housing & Residence Life in the Fall of 2005. Dr. Hardy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from St. Mary's College of Maryland, his Master of Science degree in Student Affairs from The Florida State University, and his Doctor of Education degree from The University of Alabama.

Dr. Hardy has been active in several professional associations, such as GHO, SEAHO, ACUHO-I and NASPA, and has served as a national exhibits committee sub-chair, a regional associates (vendor) chair, conference host committee member, on the regional programming body, a regional strategic planner and task force member, the state editor, state treasurer, and state Advisor. Dr. Hardy co-edited a New Directions in Student Services monograph with Jossey-Bass Publishers about gambling on campus and co-wrote an article in The Oracle, a Greek Life publication. Dr. Hardy has won several awards, including the Georgia Housing officers "Excellence in Housing" award. Dr. Hardy also is an adjunct faculty member in the Higher Education Leadership program for graduate students at VSU as well.

Dr. Hardy's community involvement includes a city appointment to the Valdosta Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals and a Leadership Lowndes participant. He is also the committee chair for Pack 404 of the Alapaha Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Assistant Director of Housing for Resident Education


Mark McNalley joined our team after working professionally at Florida State University and UNC-Asheville in North Carolina. In his role as the Assistant Director for Resident Education, Mark oversees the development of our residential curriculum and is the main contact for our LLC’s in the residence halls. Additionally, he works with our Residence Hall Association (RHA) and National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) organizations. Mark received his graduate degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University and he has a Mass Communications degree from UVA-Wise.

He is heavily involved with the SEAHO organization as he has served on committees and chaired the Educational Programs committee. He is also involved in our regional and national residence hall student-led organizations (SAACURH and NACURH). Mark is very passionate about student advising and looks forward to all the amazing things that our RHA and NRHH organizations will do in GRHO and beyond. In his free time, Mark is a tourist at heart and finds himself going on outings to local vendors and restaurants. When not out and about, Mark can a bit of a homebody and enjoys watching stand-up comedy or the latest superhero movie. He is joined (and encouraged) in these efforts by his wife and son. Assistant Director of Housing for Residential Facilities


Ryan Teter is from Lawrenceville, GA and graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mass Media. During his undergrad years, he was a Resident Assistant in several residence halls on campus and loved serving his fellow residents in this leadership role. After graduation, Ryan put his degree to work for him in the Radio industry as an Air Talent, Producer, and Program Director. While he loved the work he was doing in Radio, his heart led him back to Housing and Residence Life at VSU where he could fulfill his passion for working with college student personnel while earning his Master’s degree.

Ryan joined the VSU Housing Team as a full time professional in July 2004 and served the following three years as a Residence Hall Director in Georgia, Reade, and Lowndes Hall. In July 2007, Ryan became the Assistant Director of Housing for Residential Facilities and has since been working to continually improve residential facilities on our campus. He currently oversees all facilities related issues and capital improvement projects in 7 traditional/suite style buildings and, two apartment buildings. Ryan believes in the importance of high quality facilities as an integral part of college success and helps plan new construction and continued renovation of Valdosta State’s residence halls.

Ryan received a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Valdosta State University in 2007. With his background in residence life and continuing growth in Housing Facilities, he feels well-equipped to help students have a positive campus living experience. He is a member of state and national professional organizations including GHO, SEAHO, SACSA, and ACUHO-I. Ryan is also a VSU 1101 and RA class Instructor. Time away from work is spent with his wife (and two dogs) at Walt Disney World, coastal Georgia, and visiting family!

Contracts & Assignments Coordinator


Darli Devane has been with VSU for sixteen years but joined the Office of Housing and Residence life in October 2003. She is in charge of the student Contracts and Room Assignments. She helps to coordinate all room changes. She oversees the opening and closing of the halls. She coordinates the room selection for all returning students. She is a graduate of Valdosta Technical College.

When not at work, Darli enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She is an active member of her church where she enjoys teaching Children's Church, Sunday school, and Vacation Bible School. Darli also loves to watch the Andy Griffith Show and in her heart, Elvis will live forever.

Accounting Assistant


Louise Nathan, a native of Valdosta, joined Valdosta State University in June 2001 in the Office of Career Services/Co-Op as an Administrative Secretary. Louise worked there for six years before transferring to the Office of Housing and Residence Life as an Accountant Assistant. She graduated from Valdosta Technical College with an Accounting diploma and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Office Administration and Technology. In her leisure time, she likes spending quality time with family and friends, and Louise believes that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Administrative Secretary


Patricia (Trish) Raynor has been with VSU for 19 years but in July 2014, joined the Office of Housing and Residence Life as the Administrative Secretary. Throughout her career, supervisors and coworkers have experienced Trish as a dedicated employee who is strongly committed to her duties and strives to meaningfully contribute to her work environment. Trish confirms that VSU is Family.

When not at work, Trish enjoys boating and salt water fishing with her husband. She also enjoys spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Trish is an active member of her church and believes that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Stephanie grew up in Jamaica but calls the Atlanta area her American hometown. Stephanie graduated from Georgia Tech with a B.S. in Applied Mathematics. While attending Georgia Tech, she held various leadership positions in organizations including Student Government, Caribbean Students Association, and Hall Council. Stephanie chaired the planning committee for a leadership conference for Georgia Tech students. While at Georgia Tech, she realized she loved working with people much more than she liked working with mathematical proofs. After leaving Georgia Tech, Stephanie obtained a Masters degree in Higher Education with an emphasis in Student Affairs. Stephanie returned to Atlanta to work as a Residence Hall Director for 3 years with Georgia State University. After which, she spent a year receiving training from and then working with two religious organizations.

Stephanie believes that college students are the future leaders of our society and wants to help students make the most of their college experience. Stephanie enjoys talking to students about life’s decisions, purpose, values, and how do we interact with those who are different from us. She also loves to hear about students’ classes and what they like doing during their free time.

In her spare time, Stephanie enjoys reading non-fiction, spending time with family and friends, cooking and eating. Stop by her office to say hi and tell her how your day is going.

Katrina Hogan joins the VSU Housing and Residence Life as a Receptionist, after completing a temporary position in the Office of Financial Aid.  Born and raised in Valdosta, she is no stranger to the Valdosta State University Campus.  She received her Associate of Science in Education from Georgia Military College in 1999, a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Studies from VSU in 2005 and is currently pursuing the completion of a MAED Degree in Higher Education. 

In her spare time, she enjoys working in her church as the youth director and serving as a  member of the church choir and praise team.  Her biggest joy is spending quality time with her family, shopping and traveling.  Her favorite quote is from the great Ruby Dee:  The kind of beauty I want most is the hard-to-get kind that comes from within - strength, courage and dignity.

Elsie Crane, a long-time Valdosta resident, joined the VSU staff in 2004. She worked at the University Bookstore and more recently, the Langdale Market. Joining Housing and Residence Life in July 2007, Elsie is glad to be able to continue to work with students and student staff. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she admits to a dual allegiance to red and black! Formerly involved in needlework retailing and instruction, Elsie continues to enjoy quilting and reading about this art form and the men and women involved with it.

Graduate Assistant (Marketing and Public Relations)


Holli was born in Nassau, Bahamas and raised in Kosciusko, MS. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University in May 2014. While at Mississippi State, Holli was very involved in campus and housing life. She served in numerous positions, including Resident Adviser, Orientation Leader, member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, member of the MSU chapter of Psi Chi executive board and an undergraduate research assistant for the Psychology Department. Holli plans to continue her education in VSU’s Industrial/Organizational Psychology Master’s program. In her spare time Holli enjoys traveling, listening to music, taking pictures and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be joining the VSU’s Housing Department team and is looking forward to this new life chapter.

Ethan Gray

Ethan Gray started here at Valdosta State as a freshmen in 2010 and received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in May 2014. Ethan was born and raised in Peachtree City, GA.  He is currently working towards his Master's in Public Administration. This is Ethan's 4th year working in Housing and Residence Life office where he was a Student Facility Assistant and now is the Graduate Assistant of Facilities.

In his spare time he likes watching Netflix marathons and playing with his 2 dogs, Bear and Petey, also hanging with friends, cleaning, and playing on social media sites. He is looking foward to this year ahead and the amazing oppertuinity that has been giving to him to make a difference to the students here at Valdosta State Universtiy.

Born and raised in Metro-Atlanta, Praysha Malone came to VSU as a freshman in 2008. After working as a front desk worker for a year, she was a resident assistant for three years. She then graduated with a double-major in Management and International Business, and decided to continue her education in VSU’s Marriage and Family Therapy Program in the fall of 2013. She was excited about continuing to work in VSU’s Housing department for the duration of her graduate career.

Outside of work and academics, Praysha enjoys building long-term relationships with her friends and family. Whether that means catching a movie at home with her mom, cooking an "experimental" meal for her sister, or hosting a game night for her friends to enjoy, Praysha appreciates the people around her with whom she can share the “little things.” Some of her other interests include travelling, trying new foods, dancing, singing, playing games, reading and photography.

Lynsei Love

Originally from Stone Mountain, GA, Lynsei Love initially enrolled at Valdosta State University in 2008. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2012 and decided to begin her search for a career. After taking time off from school while working in the field of education, Lynsei discovered a talent for working with middle and high school students and decided to build on it by seeking a Master’s degree in School Counseling. She is very excited about returning to Valdosta State University as the Graduate Assistant for Camps and Conferences.

When Lynsei is not at work, she enjoys reading, trying different recipes, and discovering Do-It-Yourself solutions for everyday problems. She is passionate about making simple lifestyle tweaks in order to achieve one’s best level of health externally and internally, and looks forward to continued individual and professional growth.
