Tom Hardy

Dr. Thomas W. Hardy has been employed in several different higher education institutions including Florida State University, Maryville College, and The University of Alabama. He joined the VSU as the Director of Housing & Residence Life in the Fall of 2005. Dr. Hardy received his Bachelor of Arts degree in History from St. Mary's College of Maryland, his Master of Science degree in Student Affairs from Florida State University, and his Doctor of Education degree from The University of Alabama.

Dr. Hardy has been active in professional associations, such as GHO, SEAHO, ACUHO-I and NASPA, and has served as a national exhibits committee sub-chair, a regional associates (vendor) chair, conference host committee member, on the regional programming body, a regional strategic planner and task force member, the state editor, state treasurer, and state Advisor. Dr. Hardy co-edited a New Directions in Student Services monograph with Jossey-Bass Publishers about gambling on campus and co-wrote an article in The Oracle, a Greek Life publication. Dr. Hardy has won several awards, including the Georgia Housing officers "Excellence in Housing" award. Dr. Hardy also is an adjunct faculty member in the Higher Education Leadership program for graduate students at VSU. 

Dr. Hardy's community involvement includes a city appointment to the Valdosta Housing Board of Adjustments and Appeals and a Leadership Lowndes participant. He is also the committee chair for Pack 404 of the Alapaha Area Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Mark McNalley

Mark oversees the development of our residential curriculum and is the main contact for our LLC’s in the residence halls. Additionally, Mark works with the Area Coordinator for Brown, Lowndes and Patterson on community development plans for those halls.   Finally, Mark advises the National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH) student organization.  Mark received his graduate degree in Student Affairs Administration in Higher Education from Ball State University and he has a Mass Communications degree from UVA-Wise. 

He is heavily involved with the SEAHO organization as he has served on committees and chaired the Educational Programs committee. He is also involved in our regional and national residence hall student-led organizations (SAACURH and NACURH). Mark is very passionate about connecting the material taught in the classroom to the everyday lives of students outside the classroom.  To this end, Mark is also an instructor for PERS courses and the RA Class.  When not out and about, Mark can a bit of a homebody and enjoys watching stand-up comedy or the latest superhero movie. He is joined (and encouraged) in these efforts by his wife and son. Assistant Director of   Residence Life


Ryan Teter is from Lawrenceville, GA and graduated from Valdosta State University with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Mass Media. During his undergrad years, he was a Resident Assistant in several residence halls on campus and loved serving his fellow residents in this leadership role. After graduation, Ryan put his degree to work for him in the radio industry as an Air Talent, Producer, and Program Director. While he loved the work he was doing in radio, his heart led him back to Housing and Residence Life at VSU where he could fulfill his passion for working with college student personnel while earning his Master’s degree.

Ryan joined the VSU Housing Team as a full time professional in July 2004 and served the following three years as a Residence Hall Director in Georgia, Reade, and Lowndes Hall. In July 2007, Ryan became the Assistant Director of Housing for Residential Facilities and has since been working to continually improve residential facilities on our campus. He currently oversees all facilities related issues and capital improvement projects in 7 traditional/suite style buildings and, two apartment buildings. Ryan believes in the importance of high quality facilities as an integral part of college success and helps plan new construction and continued renovation of Valdosta State’s residence halls.

Ryan received a Master of Education in Higher Education Administration from Valdosta State University in 2007. With his background in residence life and continuing growth in Housing Facilities, he feels well-equipped to help students have a positive campus living experience. He is a member of state and national professional organizations including GHO, SEAHO, SACSA, and ACUHO-I. Ryan is also a VSU 1101 and RA class Instructor. Time away from work is spent with his wife (and two dogs) at Walt Disney World, coastal Georgia, and visiting family!

The Central Staff Team

Contracts & Assignments Coordinator


Darli Devane has been with VSU for sixteen years but joined the Office of Housing and Residence life in October 2003. She is in charge of the student Contracts and Room Assignments. She helps to coordinate all room changes. She oversees the opening and closing of the halls. She coordinates the room selection for all returning students. She is a graduate of Valdosta Technical College.

When not at work, Darli enjoys spending time with her husband and children. She is an active member of her church where she enjoys teaching Children's Church, Sunday school, and Vacation Bible School. Darli also loves to watch the Andy Griffith Show and in her heart, Elvis will live forever.

Accounting Assistant


Louise Nathan, a native of Valdosta, joined Valdosta State University in June 2001 in the Office of Career Services/Co-Op as an Administrative Secretary. Louise worked there for six years before transferring to the Office of Housing and Residence Life as an Accountant Assistant. She graduated from Valdosta Technical College with an Accounting diploma and is currently pursuing a B.S. in Office Administration and Technology. In her leisure time, she likes spending quality time with family and friends, and Louise believes that you can do all things through Christ who strengthens you.

Administrative Secretary


Patricia (Trish) Raynor has been with VSU for 19 years but in July 2014 joined the Office of Housing and Residence Life as the Administrative Secretary. Throughout her career supervisors and coworkers have experienced Trish as a dedicated employee who is strongly committed to her duties and strives to meaningfully contribute to her work environment. Trish confirms that VSU is Family.

When not at work, Trish enjoys boating and salt water fishing with her husband. She also enjoys spending quality time with her children and grandchildren. Trish is an active member of her church and believes that “faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen.”

Haley Lyman


Haley Lyman joined the VSU housing team for Fall 2015. Haley is from Orlando, FL and received her Masters of Arts in Educational Leadership from the University of Central Florida. She has been involved with different facets of Housing and Residence Life at the University of West Florida and University of Central Florida. Seth Sterlin


Seth Sterlin comes to Valdosta State University from southwest Virginia, where he attended Virginia Tech and received his Bachelor's in chemistry in the spring of 2012. He recently received his Master's degree in Higher Education Leadership from VSU.

In his spare time, Seth enjoys sitting back and catching up on TV shows, especially if it can be a Netflix marathon or going to the movies, and if he has enough time, cooking. Some of his interests include hanging out with friends and spending time with his dog, Bailey (named after his favorite character from Grey's Anatomy). Lenora Willis



Lenora Willis, a Philadelphia,PA native, received her Bachelor's degree at Drew University in Madison, NJ in mathematics in 2011. After 3 years as a very involved student leader, serving as Orientation Leader, Student Government Association president, RHA Vice President, and paraprofessional in Residence life, Lenora decided to pursue a Master's degree and a career in Higher Education and Student Affairs. She has worked in higher education professionally, since 2011, at various institutions including Bloomfield College, Salem State University, and University of Oregon. Lenora brings various experiences in professional and student staff training and hiring, anti- oppression and social justice work, career development, and assessment and strategic planning to her current position. Lenora joins VSU as a full time professional overseeing Centennial, Converse, and Hopper halls. She is very excited to work with students transitioning out of the university setting and apply her passion areas to her everyday student interactions.  Lenora enjoys anywhere there is water, music, her new pup, and most importantly cooking delicious food. Although, she may be far from home in NJ, she is excited to be back in the same time zone as her family and friends, and not to mention Disney World.

Katrina Hogan joins the VSU Housing and Residence Life as a Receptionist, after completing a temporary position in the Office of Financial Aid.  Born and raised in Valdosta, she is no stranger to the Valdosta State University Campus.  She received her Associate of Science in Education from Georgia Military College in 1999, a Bachelor of Science Degree in General Studies from VSU in 2005 and is currently pursuing the completion of a MAED Degree in Higher Education. 

In her spare time, she enjoys working in her church as the youth director and serving as a  member of the church choir and praise team.  Her biggest joy is spending quality time with her family, shopping and traveling.  Her favorite quote is from the great Ruby Dee:  The kind of beauty I want most is the hard-to-get kind that comes from within - strength, courage and dignity.

Elsie Crane, a long-time Valdosta resident, joined the VSU staff in 2004. She worked at the University Bookstore and more recently, the Langdale Market. Joining Housing and Residence Life in July 2007, Elsie is glad to be able to continue to work with students and student staff. A graduate of the University of Georgia, she admits to a dual allegiance to red and black! Formerly involved in needlework retailing and instruction, Elsie continues to enjoy quilting and reading about this art form and the men and women involved with it.

Graduate Assistant (Marketing and Public Relations)



Holli was born in Nassau, Bahamas and raised in Kosciusko, MS. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Mississippi State University in May 2014. While at Mississippi State, Holli was very involved in campus and housing life. She served in numerous positions, including Resident Adviser, Orientation Leader, member of the Dean’s Student Advisory Council, member of the MSU chapter of Psi Chi executive board and an undergraduate research assistant for the Psychology Department. Holli plans to continue her education in VSU’s Industrial/Organizational Psychology Master’s program. In her spare time Holli enjoys traveling, listening to music, taking pictures and spending time with family and friends. She is excited to be joining the VSU’s Housing Department team and is looking forward to this new life chapter.

Erica is a first year graduate student in the Marriage and Family Therapy department at VSU. However, VSU’s campus is nothing new to her - she spent four years here as an undergraduate Psychology major/Spanish minor and recently graduated Magna Cum Laude. She was born in San Bernandino, CA and raised in Middle Georgia with four other siblings and two step siblings. During most of her undergrad years (sophomore to senior year), Erica was a Resident Assistant, having served one semester in Langdale Hall and two full years in Hopper Hall. Erica is passionate about growing as a person and helping others to do the same, but specifically couples and families that struggle with dysfunctional relationships and helping them to get to the root of their problems so they can work through them together. When she is not studying, working, or sleeping, she enjoys cooking and looking for new recipes, catching up on seasons of her favorite shows and movies on Netflix, traveling, reading, spending time with friends and family, shopping, listening to music, singing, cleaning and searching for ideas/buying interior decorations for her apartment. Erica works with Mark McNalley, helping to supervise Residence Hall Association (RHA), National Residence Hall Honorary (NRHH), and she assists with the planning and development of programs for residents across campus through the residential curriculum. She is very excited to start this new chapter of her life and continue working with new and returning staff and residents.

Ethan Gray



Ethan Gray started at Valdosta State as a freshmen in 2010 and received his Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice in May 2014. Ethan was born and raised in Peachtree City, GA. He is currently working towards his Master's in Public Administration. This is Ethan's 4th year working in Housing and Residence Life office where he was a Student Facility Assistant and now is the Graduate Assistant of Facilities.

In his spare time he likes watching Netflix marathons and playing with his 2 dogs, Bear and Petey, hanging with friends, cleaning, and playing on social media sites. He is looking foward to the year ahead and the amazing opportuinity given to him to make a difference in the lives of the students at Valdosta State Universtiy.

Lynsei Love




Originally from Stone Mountain, GA, Lynsei Love initially enrolled at Valdosta State University in 2008. She obtained her Bachelors degree in Psychology in 2012 and decided to begin her search for a career. After taking time off from school while working in the field of education, Lynsei discovered a talent for working with middle and high school students and decided to build on it by seeking a Master’s degree in School Counseling. She was excited about returning to Valdosta State University Fall 2014 as the Graduate Assistant for Camps and Conferences and as the Graduate Assistant for Programs and Assessments for the 2015-16 year.

When Lynsei is not at work, she enjoys reading, trying different recipes, and discovering Do-It-Yourself solutions for everyday problems. She is passionate about making simple lifestyle tweaks in order to achieve one’s best level of health externally and internally, and looks forward to continued individual and professional growth.
