VSU Hosts Fourth Science Saturday
VALDOSTA – Valdosta State University will host its fourth Science Saturday from 9 a.m. – 12 p.m. on Saturday, March 23, in Nevins Hall. This is the fourth Science Saturday of the series and the second of the spring semester.
The event, titled “What a Wonderful World,” will include planetarium shows, a sun observation, exploring GPS, diving into the microscopic world, geocaching, the building of Mt. St. Helens, the wonder of fossils, geography trivial pursuit and fun with physics.
The Science Saturday program is part of the College of Arts and Sciences STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) Initiative. The goal of the STEM initiative is to encourage students to major in STEM areas and help students succeed in those programs. The program puts science and math into a fun and entertaining context and allows students to see basic scientific principles in action.
Science Saturday is free and open to the public.
