A survey of the major political, economic, social, and cultural developments in the United States and Georgia since 1865. The course is divided into four units, each unit covering a specific time period in American History after 1865. *Either HIST 2111 or HIST 2112 satisfies legislative requirements for U.S./Georgia History.

Course Materials

Course textbook: "The Unfinished Nation: A Concise History of the American People,” Volume II, by Alan Brinkley. The digital version of this text is included in the cost of tuition as part of VSU’s Day 1 program.

Course also includes embedded historical journal articles and primary documents at no cost to the student.
