While in Monterrey, she stayed with the Lima family, whom she formed strong bonds with. It was like going and finding my second family, she said. Worley said she loved the nature, the food, the culture, and especially the people of Monterrey. The best part of studying abroad was truly the people, she said. Though Worley was not new to traveling to Mexico, she said her VSU professors provided her with connections, showed her different scholarships, and assembled resources to help make her third stay in Monterrey possible. VSU was just an encouraging friend at that time, she said. Once in Monterrey, Worley said, along with coursework, she helped her host family with work at their church, La Casa de Milagros. She worked on the leadership team, joined the church praise team, taught English classes weekly, and delivered sermons to youth in Spanish and English. Worley said the opportunity VSU had provided her to tutor a wide array of students at the Academic Support Center helped prepare her for her activities in Mexico. At VSU, Worley said her classes at the business school taught that ethics were a top priority. Worleys experience abroad added to that principle. 52 Langdale College of Business'
