The Valdosta State Difference

Students in the history program at Valdosta State enjoy small upper-level classes and have the opportunity to work closely with faculty members, who are actively engaged in research and writing and regularly attend and present at national conferences. Students have numerous opportunities to strengthen their studies outside the classroom through organizations like Phi Alpha Theta, an international honor society for history students, and by participating in internships at historical sites, museums and other discipline-related venues. The department offers numerous study abroad opportunities in which faculty and students travel to locales around the world to broaden their horizons and enrich their classroom experience.
