They joined undergraduate students from public and private colleges and universities throughout the Peach State in presenting their research. Working as a team, the duo presented research on the Teachers Retirement System of Georgia. The focus of our research is the burden of paying defined benefit payout amounts from the State of Georgias perspective, and if they were to change the various factors, how much would they save, Caldron explained. What could Georgia do to improve its financial position? The students conducted their research under the direction of Dr. Sanjay Gupta, professor of accounting and associate dean of the college, and Dr. Attila Cseh, professor of economics.VSU and the Harley Langdale Jr. College of Business Administration remain committed to encouraging students to participate in experiential learning opportunities like the Georgia Undergraduate Research Collective Posters at the Georgia State Capitol event. Participating in research has many benefits, as students who engage in research activities are able to build relationships resulting in enhanced learning with their faculty mentors, are more likely to be retained, are more likely to pursue advanced degrees, have an increased knowledge base of research methodology, and are more likely to promote an innovation-oriented culture.46 Langdale College of Business'
