One of these opportunities is the annual Institute Learning of Management Accountants (IMA) Student Case Competition. Students from IMA student chapters across the country act as an outside consulting firm to provide a solution to a problem that could How Five Businessbe faced in the actual business world; that solution is subsequently presented in a 15-minute video.Students Achieved aThe case, of course, changes each year, presenting a different scenario requires a different type National Ranking of analysis from the students. In the previous year, the case featured a cost analysis of a small empanada company, with the goal of stimulating Authors/Co-Directors of Case Competition:growth and ascertaining if and when future Theodore Worms and Xavier Pineda expansion would be possible. This year, the VSU team represented Cork Consulting, the firm hired Team Members: Taylor Grantham,by winery owner and restaurateur Carmine Chianti Kyeong Hwan Lee, Marjorie Dezormo to analyze the risks and opportunities of starting an annual wine festival in Sacramento, California.The VSU team had no previous experience with risk management, so the students first order of business was to research the COSO Enterprise Risk Management-Integrated Framework to gain a better understanding of what would be expected Thanks to theof the group as risk consultants. The students then evaluated the significance and likelihood of amazing teamworkall possible risks and opportunities associated and involvement fromwith the event. After completing the analysis, the team developed a plan for filming that laid each one of the groupout the different scenes and shooting locations, which allowed them to prepare a script that best members, we wereportrayed the problem, as well as the solution in a video format. The filmography, from the filming able to have a greatschedule and acting to the framing of different shots and editing, was unexpectedly the most time while havingchallenging part of the case.exceptional results. It was funny because none of us had any experience in filmmaking before so we didnt realizehow much planning and work was involved, said Xavier Pineda Theodore Worms. We ended up bringing multiple outfits to each shooting location so we could film multiple scenes that took place on different days in the script.
