Dr. Samira Y. Rampley

Lecturer, Marriage and Family Therapy

My name is Samira Rampley.  I am a lecturer in the Family Therapy program here at VSU.  I hold a Ph.D. in Family Therapy, and I am a clinical fellow of the American Association of Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT) and an AAMFT Approved Supervisor certification. I have worked with a diverse client population including at-risk youth and special needs children and their families. I work from a systemic perspective, addressing therapeutic problems from solution-focused and collaborative approaches. I have a wide range of teaching experience, including treatment issues, research, family systems theories, foundations of family therapy, psychopathology & psychopharmacology, legal issues, special topics, and clinical practicum. My goal is to do my best in training well-rounded therapists who can serve our community to the best of their ability. One more thing, my first language is Spanish and I love working with bilingual students and their Spanish-speaking clients.
