Sarah is Interim Department Head of Communication Arts and Professor of Dance at Valdosta State University. She received a Master of Fine Arts in Dance Choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro and a Bachelor of Arts in American Studies from Vanderbilt University (TN). She is a member of the board of directors for the American College Dance Association and currently chairs the social media committee for ACDA. She is a certified Aerial Teacher through Born To Fly Curriculum and wrote the aerial dance arts curriculum at VSU adding this new area to the Dance Major. http://www.borntoflyaerial.com/ 

Sarah’s interests are interdisciplinary as she enjoys integrating her talents in film-making, photography, music composition, and physical fitness into her choreography while also expanding boundaries of genre and style. She continues to perform professionally with various companies and artists in the region, including her company SWADanceCo. She has performed in and presented work in NYC and was a company member of Terranova Dance Theatre. Sarah has spent many summers with Peach State Summer Theatre as a performer and dance captain for the 2014-2016 and choreographer for the main stage since 2016. Valdosta audiences have seen her work in Spamalot, Mamma Mia!, Hello, Dolly!, Ring of Fire, and Rogers & Hammerstein's Cinderella with PSST as well as in Bright Star, Guys and Dolls and 9 to 5 in the academic season.
