Stuart is an award-winning media producer, screenwriter, filmmaker, educator, and creative
leader with more than 20 years of experience in film, television, live broadcasting, digital
media, instructional design, and strategic content development. He holds a Master of Fine Arts
in Film and Television Production from the Savannah College of Art and Design and a Bachelor
of Science in Digital Media from Utah Valley University.
Before joining Valdosta State University, Heimdal served as Executive Producer and Manager of
Production Studio Operations at Western Governors University where he built and led a team
of media professionals producing more than 50 projects each month, including coursework
videos, podcasts, social media campaigns, marketing content, and live broadcasts.
His teaching emphasizes hands-on learning, storytelling, production practice, and student
mentorship. An accomplished creative professional, his work has earned recognition from the
Muse Creative Awards, Vega Digital Awards, Davey Awards, 13Horror.com, and Columbus
International Film Festival. His current interests include documentary ethics, emerging media,
AI-assisted storytelling, and creative production workflows.
