Nina is an Instructor of Dance at Valdosta State University. Before joining VSU, she taught several courses in dance technique, history, and choreography at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro, where she completed her Master of Fine Arts in Choreography. Nina also holds a dual Bachelor of Arts in Dance and Psychology from Muhlenberg College (PA).
As a collaborative dance-maker, Nina has choreographed dance and musical theatre productions at Dance Project: The School at City Arts (NC), Porch Light Productions (NJ), the School of Theatre and School of Music at UNC Greensboro, and the Theatre and Dance departments at Buck's Rock Camp (CT). Some favorite credits include: Fiddler on the Roof, The Producers, RENT, Urinetown, Heathers: The Musical, and an orchestral version of E.A. Poe’s The Tell-Tale Heart.
Nina’s interests stem from her belief that the performing arts can be a vehicle for social change. Informed by her dual background in theatre and dance, she creates interdisciplinary performances that both honor and break aspects of traditional proscenium settings as a way to allow audiences to think critically about the active roles they take in shaping their lives and cultures.
