Year started working at VSU: I first started working at Valdosta State as an undergraduate, four years before it became a university, and was happy to return home in 2020.

Why I love advising: I love helping students succeed like so many people helped me.

Hometown: Perry, Florida

Hobbies/interests: I am a person of great faith who enjoys exciting adventures with my family. When not outdoors or trying something new, I love research, design, and innovation. The quote I taped to my dorm room mirror as a freshman is still true today: “I’d rather attempt something great and fail, than attempt nothing and succeed.” Encouraging others to do the same is a passion of mine.

Fun fact: My “15 minutes of fame” was on C-Span, speaking at a national conference I helped to create as the national director of a collegiate non-profit in Washington, D.C. (My first job after VSC graduation.) I was also honored by my peers to serve as VSC’s Homecoming Queen and Greek Woman of the Year my senior year.

Why VSU: I have loved Valdosta State since the first time I stepped on campus as a high school senior. Giving back to help students at my alma mater is not only an honor, it is a true blessing and privilege.

Areas/Program I advise: I advise students majoring in chemistry.
