Teaching Fields: Foundations of Family Therapy, Clinical Practice, Equine-Assisted Learning

Through my work with STRIDES (Scholars Together Reaching Individual and Educational Success), I use equine-assisted learning to foster leadership skills, growth mindset, communication, and resilience through guided interactions with horses.

Kate Warner, Ph.D., earned her doctorate and master's degrees in Marriage and Family Therapy from Nova Southeastern University and her bachelor's degree in Sociology from Kalamazoo College. She teaches courses in family therapy foundations, clinical practice, and equine-assisted learning. Her recent scholarship includes international and national presentations on relationship thinking, curiosity in teaching, and equine-assisted experiential learning, as well as publications on dialogue in family therapy and relational approaches to sexual abuse.
