Year started working at VSU: 1992
Why I love advising: I love the idea of putting in hard work, to "pour" something into a student's life to feel like I've made some difference -- actually feel like a "change agent"!
Hometown: Valdosta, GA
Hobbies/interests: Traveling, creative writing (poetry & short stories), reading, sewing, arts & crafts, community service, spending time with family (specifically my daughter, Brittanye)
Fun facts: I love "lazy" days (which I have very few) -- just lying around, watching Lifetime movies; I don't like parties, but I absolutely LOVE planning/organizing parties & special events -- this is my NEXT life!!
Why VSU: During my years as a VSC undergrad student, I had the opportunity to serve as a "Minority Peer Advisor" to new students. I loved "telling & selling" the VSC story and said one day I'd return as a Student Services Administrator. After 5 years serving as Assistant V.P. for Student Services at Spelman College, a door opened and I was given the opportunity to return to VSC as an Administrator. In 2004, I officially obtained "advising status" in the OASIS Advising Center. (**In 1993,VSC became VSU)
