Abigail Heuss, MFA

Abigail Heuss is a Professor of Art at Valdosta State University, where she teaches Senior Capstone, 3D Foundations, and Jewelry & Metalsmithing courses. Before coming to VSU, she served as adjunct faculty at Pitt County Community College in Greenville NC, and Boise State University in Boise ID.  She holds an M.F.A. from East Carolina University and a B.F.A. from the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Between her degrees Abigail worked as a jeweler, and completed a year long residency at the Worcester Center for Crafts in Worcester MA. She has taught workshops at Arrowmont School of Arts & Crafts in Gatlinburg TN, Snow Farm Craft Program in Williamsburg MA, and the Worcester Center for Crafts.  

 

Abigail’s work has been shown in over 100 solo, juried, and group exhibitions around the country, including the traveling Alchemy show hosted by the Enamelist Society, If Memory Serves, a solo exhibition at the Albany Museum of Art in GA, Craft/Work at Beauty and Brawn Gallery in Chicago, and The Art of Remembering, a solo show at the Maria V. Howard Arts Center in Rocky Mount NC.  Her work has also been published in several books and magazines, both nationally and abroad.
