A. Blake Pearce serves as Executive Director of Special Projects in Academic Affairs and Chief Development Officer of University Advancement at Valdosta State University. In addition to his interim appointment as Vice President of University Advancement (2022-2023), he served nine years as Dean (2013-2022), thirteen years as the Head of the Department of Art & Design (2000-2013) and nine years as art faculty (1991-2000). Blake taught printmaking and foundations courses at VSU for over 20 years.
He is a member of Alpha Chi and Phi Kappa Phi Honors Societies. He is a member of the Southern Graphics Council International , the South Eastern College Art Conference, the College Art Association, and the National Council of Arts Administrators. He served as a site visitor for the National Association of Schools of Art and Design for 12 years. Pearce received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from Valdosta State College in 1983, a Master of Arts from Ball State University in 1986, and a Master of Fine Arts from Southern Illinois University at Carbondale in 1989. Working in the areas of painting, drawing, and printmaking; his works have been exhibited in local, regional, and national exhibitions.
