Anita Davis, Coordinator of Music Education at Valdosta State University, attained degrees (Ph.D., M.M., and B.M.E.) and certification in piano performance from Florida State University, and continued studies in choral music performance at The Hartt School at the University of Hartford and Westminster Choir College, and graduate studies in Higher Education Student Affairs at The University of Southern Mississippi. She has served as an educator, performer, and researcher throughout the learning continuum, most recently serving as Associate Professor of Music Education at The University of Southern Mississippi where she founded and directed the Center for Research in Creative Learning generating approximately $1.5 million for music and arts-integrated teaching and learning projects. Throughout her career, Dr. Davis has delivered numerous invitational and peer-reviewed presentations, workshops, festivals, articles, performances, and compositions impacting regional, national, and international learning institutions to improve access to and opportunity for high-quality music and arts-integrated learning experiences.
