Our faculty and students are both scholars and feminist activists with a vision of social justice. As such, we are committed to:
- Working toward centering those who are marginalized and vulnerable
- Promoting an approach to women’s issues that integrates race, class, sexuality, nationality, citizenship, age, ability and other markers of social inequity
- Recognizing and challenging the operation of power and privilege, both within the campus and in the broader society
- Actively challenging sexism, racism, heterosexist bias, and class privilege
- Ensuring that those most affected by policies and practices are at the decision-making table
- Informing the community that the struggle for gender justice and women’s human rights is global
