Therapy Groups, Fall 2021

Groups are open to students, they meet weekly or bi-weekly and they are ongoing throughout the semester. For more information about group counseling including what to expect from your experience please see Support Group Information. If you are interested in the following groups, please contact the VSU Counseling Center at (229) 333-5940 for enrollment information.

Anxiety group 

This group has a strong focus on learning coping skills, changing thought patterns with stress, and managing physical symptoms of stress and anxiety. This group meets on Thursdays at 1:00 p.m.

Mind’s Eye Mindfulness Group 

This group focuses on developing skills to reduce stress, manage anxiety, and deepen one’s connection to oneself and the present moment. How does that sound? This group meets biweekly on Tuesdays at 11:00 a.m.

BIPOC Support Group (Black, Indigenous, People of Color)

This group discusses topics like cultural identity, relationships/sexuality, and other challenges you may face being a student. The groups are ongoing and open, so you can attend as little or as often as you need. This group meets on Tuesdays at 1:00 p.m. 

Grief Group

This group will provide a supportive framework for exploring one's intellectual, emotional, and behavioral responses to a loss. This group meets weekly on Wednesdays at 3:00 p.m.
