First-Year Student Orientation Day
This is a general overview of your Blazer Beginnings First-Year Student orientation session. As you will see, the day is structured to allow you to personalize your experience. Your day begins with time to meet with various campus departments, learn about what we have to offer, and even complete some of the tasks you may still have on your New Student Checklist. You will receive a detailed agenda when you arrive for your session.
|9:00am - 10:00am||
Check-in at the Student Union
Plan your arrival time accordingly to maximize the self-guided portion of the day.
|9:00 - 11:30am||
Concurrent Interactive Engagement Resources
This is a self-guided portion of the day during which you can visit all the offices that you still need to meet with to complete the actions on your New Student Checklist (meet with a Financial Aid Officer, learn about Meal Plans, see a residence hall room, take your ID picture, etc.) as well as learn about other important departments and places on campus (browse the Bookstore, learning about our tutoring services, etc.).
This portion of the day will involve walking outside and into different buildings on-campus. It gets hot in South Georgia, but in side the air conditioning can be cold. Please dress comfortably and weather-appropriate. Light layers and comfortable walking shoes are encouraged.
Please plan to arrive early enough to utilize this time to your advantage.
