The Art and Science of Sports
Why does a golf ball have dimples? How does a baseball curve? Why is it important for a football to spin when it is thrown? How is momentum involved in jumping? How is the center of mass important to a football lineman? How does a gymnast keep their balance on a beam? These are just a few of the many topics and applications of science to sports that visitors will be able to explore. Job awareness and college majors will also be an important theme (athletic training, sports management, physical therapist, media and communication, photography, etc.). The goal is to increase STEAM knowledge, career opportunities, and higher education degree awareness for the students of our region.
