Department Vision
The Kinesiology and Physical Education faculty demonstrate the attributes of exemplary practitioners in the areas of teacher education in health and physical education (B.S.ED. & M.Ed.) and coaching pedagogy in physical education (Ed.S.) and prepare innovative professionals for service at regional and global levels.
Department Mission
The Kinesiology and Physical Education programs contribute effectively to the mission of Valdosta State University and the Dewar College of Education and Human Services. Specifically, the mission is to prepare professionals for the promotion of health, active life styles, and life-long learning. Dedicated to common goals, programs offer comprehensive education while serving the needs of professionals and the community at large within the region. While facilitating diversity, the progrms focus on incorporating physical activity with innovative strategies for the purpose of preparing professionals who will promote health in the future.
ON-LINE Master of Education degree (M.Ed.) in Health and Physical Education – Next cohort begins in June each year.
Qualified candidates may be eligible for the T-5 certificate upon completion.
