Thank you for your interest in the Blazing Through Books program at the Sullivan Literacy Center. VSU is not currently offering the Blazing Through Books program. Please watch this page for any updates. Thank you!



PROGRAM DETAILS:

Who: VSU students are volunteering their time to read and write with the community children in grades K-5.

What: Children will be involved in one-on-one and small group literacy skills building activities (i.e. reading, writing, listening, & speaking). 

Where: The Sullivan Literacy Center is located in the Dewar College of Education room 1001.

When: Every Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 2:30-3:20 p.m. The Blazing Through Books program will begin Monday, June 17, 2019, and end Thursday, July 25, 2019.

Why: To build up your children’s reading and writing skills, motivation, and confidence related to reading and writing so that they become lifelong readers and writers.

Cost:  Monetary and/or book donations are welcome to help build up our materials library.

*Blazing Through Books is a feeder program for the Sullivan Literacy Center L.E.A.P. Tutoring Program. LEAP= Literacy Education Assessment Program
