CEU Information

Valdosta State University’s (VSU) Marriage and Family Therapy Program, in collaboration with South Georgia Association of Marriage and Family Therapy, other community partners, & MFLN, offer continuing education (CE) credits for participation in local (in-person) and live/archived webinar professional development opportunities. These trainings are scheduled periodically throughout the year and offer varying numbers of CE credits needed for Georgia Marriage & Family Therapy licensure.


South Georgia Marriage and Family Therapy Association will offer the following workshop: “A Metasystemic Approach to Family Therapy with Alcoholics, Addicts, and their Families.” R. Blaine Everson, PhD and Cynthia Shepard Perryman, MSW will be the presenters of this workshop from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Approved for (3 hours total) of CEUs in the following areas: LMFT and pending LPC/SW. Training will be at Central Church of Christ located at 304 E. Central Ave. Valdosta, Georgia Valdosta, Georgia.

Drugs of Abuse and Current Trends in Addiction Presentation

The following presentation will be offered on October 26th. 2019 from 9:00 AM-3:45 PM. This presentation will delineate the addiction process first, as an individual issue involving neurological processes, secondly as a relational and family issue, and thirdly, in the context of the larger environment. Dr. Ham will provide updates in the field of addiction useful for current practicing clinicians in this area. She will move forward to discuss relapse prevention measures, also in the context of the individual, family, and larger environmental pieces. This presentation will be at Valdosta State University in HSBA Auditorium 1107.

The Military Families Learning Network (MFLN) Family Development team provides FREE professional development opportunities, online resources and information to support clinical and advocacy work with military and civilian families. We recognize that while military families may have similar needs as civilian families, they also face unique situations that can positively and negatively impact family life. These FREE Webinars focus on topics related to early intervention, family strengthening, family violence prevention and treatment.
