Valdosta State University (VSU) is committed to transparency in educator preparation performance data. All educator preparation programs at VSU are approved by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC). Initial teacher preparation programs are accredited by the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP). Note: Initial preparation programs are programs that lead to a new, renewable field on the educator's certificate upon program completion. The Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GaPSC) requires that all initial preparation program candidates attempt the aligned content knowledge assessment in order to be identified as a program completer. Initial teacher preparation program candidates must also attempt the aligned content pedagogy assessment. These completers must pass the assessment(s) in order to obtain professional educator certification in Georgia.
