On behalf of the saxophone studio and the music department at Valdosta State University, let me say that we are very excited to be hosting the Region 6 Conference of the North American Saxophone Alliance this year!

If you would like to attend the NASA Region 6 Conference, please send an email to Matthew Roehrich with your name, school affiliation (if applicable), and city and state.

North American Saxophone Alliance members will receive a program booklet and name badge. There is no fee to attend the conference, however you must be a current member of NASA to participate in the events of the conference. To join the North American Saxophone Alliance, visit

For this conference we welcome proposals for performances, papers, panel discussions, lectures, lecture-recitals, clinics, master classes, and other presentations that relate to saxophone performance, pedagogy, and research. We will make every effort to assemble a balanced program of performances which includes traditional repertoire, jazz, new music, and world music.

The program committee will only accept proposals from student and professional members of the North American Saxophone Alliance.

To submit an application to perform or present at this NASA conference, please send a proposal form and additional materials to by December 10th. Those who are selected to present or perform will be notified by January 15th.

Proposal Form

Application Requirements:

Applications must include the following:

  • A complete proposal form.

  • Biographical information for the PRESENTER(S). Proposals for lectures, panel discussions, master classes, or other non-performance events should include biographical information for all participants. Be sure to include information for all ensemble members, accompanists, etc. Experienced chamber groups may also submit an ensemble biography (approximately 100 words).

  • Biographical information for the COMPOSER(S) (approximately 100 words).

  • A short justification for presentation at this conference. This should provide reasons as to why your event should be included on the program.

  • For lectures and panel discussions, include an abstract of no more that 250 words outlining your presentation. The abstract should accurately reflect the entire content of the presentation (thesis, methods, conclusions).

  • OPTIONAL: A black-and-white photo of the performer/presenter - 200-300 dpi. Pictures MUST BE submitted electronically.

NOTE: All performance proposals must be limited to 20 minutes of music; all other presentations are limited to 50 minutes.

Please make every effort to ensure your application is complete before you submit it. Incomplete applications will not be considered.
