Jennett is chairman of Georgia Gulf Sulphur Corporation, a Valdosta based company that processes and distributes sulfur products and is a major employer in the region. He has served in many leadership roles in the Valdosta community, including chairman of the Valdosta-Lowndes County Development Authority Board, executive board member of the South Georgia Council of the Boy Scouts of America, and member of the Board of Directors of Scintilla Charter Academy. After serving on the VSU Foundation Board of Trustees for many years, Mr. Jennett was permanently appointed as an emeritus trustee to honor his dedication to the university. He has supported all areas of the Valdosta State campus, including improvements for facilities, new projects, athletics, and the arts. Gifts from Jerry Jennett and his wife, Kay, have supported scholarships and equipment for student-athletes, endowed scholarships in the College of the Arts and the College of Business Administration, and established VSUs top scholarship offered via the VSU Honors Collegethe Jennett Scholars Program. Mr. Jennett regularly attends VSU athletic events and award dinners, and he has been an active member of VSUs Musical Union and Concert Choir for many years, attending every rehearsal and even performing with the Valdosta Symphony Orchestra. The Jennetts were inducted into the VSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2013, and the University System of Georgia named Mr. Jennett a Regents Hall of Fame Alumni and Distinguished Friends Award winner in 2017.S pecIAlr ecognItIonK ennetHm ooreII23 Bachelor of Science in Organizational LeadershipIndianapolis Colts CornerbackKenny Moore II is a Pro Bowl Cornerback in the National Football League for the Indianapolis Colts. He grew up in Valdosta and Lowndes County and graduated from Lowndes High School in 2013. From 2013-2015, Kenny was a cornerback on the Valdosta State Blazers football team, and he switched to safety for his senior season in 2016.He earned All-Gulf South Conference and All-American honors his junior and senior seasons at VSU.Kenny began his NFL career when he was signed by the New England Patriots as an undrafted free agent on May 5, 2017. He was waived by the Patriots on September 2, 2017 but was claimed off waivers by the Indianapolis Colts the very next day. Kenny has excelled as a cornerback in Indianapolis, and he made his first career Pro Bowl during the 2021 season. He was also chosen as the Colts nominee for the NFLs Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2021, an honor that goes to a player who has had a significant positive impact on his community. In 2023, Kenny was named to the Gulf South Conference Hall of Fame. After leaving Valdosta State early to prepare for the NFL, Kenny vowed to complete his degree.
