The Health and Wellness Certificate focuses on the physical, social and emotional wellbeing skills to help you live a well-balanced life.

Most workshops are offered in both a face-to-face and virtual format. If you are unable to attend a face-to-face event you may request a substitution. If you are enrolled in an academic leadership class a substitution for some requirements may also be available. Objectives

Log into your BlazerLink to access the Blazer Ready Experience. As you complete each objective, you will earn credit toward the Health & Wellness Certificate. 

  • Complete the Initial Participation Survey in BlazerLink
  • Review the 8 Dimensions of Wellness Model and article.
  • Attend one event from an area of health & wellness:
    • Body
      • Play on an intramural team.
      • New Year, New Me Campus Recreation Program
      • Financial Wellness Workshop
      • Exercise 20 minutes a day for 7 days in a row.
    • Mind
      • Destress Fest Program
      • Fresh Check Day
      • One Love Program
    • Spirit
      • Self-Love and Compassion Festival
      • Take a Yoga Class
      • Participate in a Faith-based activity hosted by a Student Organization

Objectives - Recommend starting 3 semesters prior to Graduation

  • Complete the Your Top Three worksheet to identify a strategy for each of dimensions of wellness you can improve upon.
  • Complete and submit a 3-month check-in on your wellness progress for the goals you created.
  • Complete and submit a 6-month check-in on your wellness progress for the goals you created.
  • Submit the reflection of your Health and Wellness Achieve objectives.

Health and Wellness Excellence Packet

Your reflection question responses are submitted inside BlazerLink once you have completed the Health and Wellness ACHIEVE Objectives. These questions are provided for your review to better understand what reflection prompts are asked.

  1. Describe how your habits, behaviors, and mindset have changed after focusing on improving your top 3 wellness goals.
  2. What feedback have you received from peers or family members regarding changes in your overall health and wellbeing?
  3. What long-term goals do you have for your health and wellness journey after completing the Health and Wellness Blazer Ready levels?
  4. Having completed Health and Wellness program, please evaluate your level of experience with the following competencies: 
    1. Career and Self Development – Proactively develop oneself and one’s career through continual personal and professional learning, awareness of one’s strengths and weaknesses, navigation of career opportunities, and networking to build relationships within and without one’s organization. 
    2. Communication – Clearly and effectively exchange information, ideas, facts, and perspectives with persons inside and outside of an organization. 
    3. Technology – Understand and leverage technologies ethically to enhance efficiencies, complete tasks, and accomplish goals. 
  5. Provide any additional feedback you believe is helpful in knowing more about your experience with the Career Preparation program.
