2019 VSU Leadership Academy Application

Valdosta State University is excited to announce the third year call for nominations for the VSU Leadership Academy. The VSU Leadership Academy Selection Committee will review applications and make recommendations to senior leadership. The maximum cohort size for the 2019-2020 year is thirty-six. Notifications will be sent by Monday, October 21, 2019.

Eligibility:

• Demonstrates potential based on the USG leadership competencies; designed for high potential individuals who desire to progress or advance in leadership roles.
• Employed full-time at VSU for a minimum of two years with consecutive positive (excellent/outstanding/exceptional) evaluation ratings. If currently serving in an administrative position of manager or higher (i.e. manager, assistant director, associate director, director, department head, assistant dean. associate dean, dean, etc.), the two year minimum employment requirement can be waived.

• The VSU Leadership Academy requires participants to commit approximately 40 hours of time over a 7-month period (October 2018 to April 2019). Make-up courses are not available and missing any course, project, or activity will result in possible dismissal from the academy. In addition to the required orientation and training dates listed, participants will engage in team dialog, mentor/mentee dialog, and action plan development which will require additional time to accomplish. By selecting YES, I agree to be in attendance for all the required dates for the program as scheduled (October 28, 2019 from 3-4; November 19, 2019 from 8:30-4:30; January 28, 2020 from 8:30-4:30; March 10, 2020 from 8:30-4:30; April 20, 2020 from 8:30-2:00) and complete the required out-of-class activities.
