About the Mac Lab: 

The Mac Lab is an easy-to-use classroom with 12 student stations and 1 instructor station available for VSU students, staff, and faculty. No experience is required to use this facility. A staff member will be available to assist you with getting started and answering any questions you may have about using the room. A common program utilized in this space is iMovie. Below is a quick guide on how to get started with using iMovie.

How it Works: iMovie

 

Working with iMovie:

 
  1. Open iMovie
  2. Click on New Event
  3. Click the import button on the toolbar
  4. Select the source of your files
  5. Click on Import Selected
  6. Click the New button in the toolbar
  7. Find the clip you would like to add to the timeline
  8. You can select a portion of your clip by dragging from left to right with your cursor
  9. Once your cursor is selected you can drag the clip to your timeline
  10. Repeat steps 7-9 to add clips in the order you want them
  11. To add a title or text over your clips, select titles in the content library
  12. Select the title you wish to add and drag it to the timeline either before or above the clip
  13. Click the title in your viewer and type the text you wish
  14. You can also select and change the font, and font size
  15. Once you are done editing your movie Click Share>File
  16. Next type your description of your movie, add your tags and click next
  17. Type the Name of your Movie in the Save As box
  18. Click the down arrow next to Save As to select your location to save your final movie then click next
  19. Your Movie is now exported
