What is MyCAA?

What is AF COOL?

The MyCAA Scholarship Program is offered by the Department of Defense and provides military spouses with funding of up to $4000 to train for in-demand careers at little or no cost. Air Force Credentialing Opportunities On-Line (AF COOL) provides funding of $4500 per Airman per lifetime for credentialing in your AF job. It also provides an avenue to prepare for employment when you re-enter civilian life.

MyCAA

MyCAA provides eligible military spouses with up to $4000 to train online for a new career. Online programs allow you to learn at your own convenience. Take your career wherever you are stationed.

Who is eligible?

Spouses of active duty Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine service members in the following pay grades:

    • E1 - E5
    • W1 - W2
    • O1 - O2

For spouses of National Guard or AGR Members, the service member must be on federal Title 10 active duty orders.

AF COOL

Who is eligible?

The AF COOL is a Total Force Enlisted program that provides tuition assistance for certain approved training programs. It includes all enlisted AFSCs for RegAF, AFRES, and ANG. Funding will be provided for RegAF, AFRES, and ANG members on Title 10 or Title 32 (502F) active duty orders.

What training programs are eligible?

Eligible credentials are based on your AFSC. The TOP 3 online training programs are:

    • Project Management
    • CompTIA
    • Microsoft Office Specialist

Check the list of approved credentials for your AFSC. 

Where can I get more information?

Search credentials at https://afvec.us.af.mil/afvec/Public/COOL/SearchCredentials.aspx. You will see a privacy warning: "Your Connection is not private."

    • Click on "Advanced" below the privacy warning.
    • Click on "Proceed to afvec.us.af.mil."
    • Access is safe; the privacy warning appears due to security settings within the VSU website.
