Dekalb County was established as the 56^th county in Georgia. It was named after Baron Johann de Kolb, a native of Germany. . Dekalb County is located in Georgia's metropolitan area. It is the second largest county in Georgia.  Premier Dekalb County School System currently has about 102,000 students enrolled. Presently, I enjoy substitute teaching and volunteering in several schools located in South Dekalb County.

 

My name is Yolwana Lawrence. I am a student at Valdosta State University. I am currently enrolled in the Masters of Arts in Special Education: General Curriculum. I currently reside in Stone Mountain, Georgia. For the last few months I have been frequenting Stone Mountain Park. It is very scenic and nice for working out. I enjoy warm weather, beaches, festivals, and live music.

 

Welcome to my exciting co-taught reading class. I rotate between Kindergarten and 1st grade classrooms to serve students with reading IEP objectives. These co-taught classrooms utilize technology, small groups, and some one-on-one instruction to meet Georgia Professional Standards (GPS).  In my class we have fun reading using audio and visual aids to make reading fun.
