The Very Sad Caterpillar
Paint Picture and Story
designed by: Vanessa Franks
There
one was a very sad
caterpillar named Rosie. She was green and
fuzzy with rose-colored cheeks. Rosie lived in a tree in the backyard
of the Franks' house. Day in and day out all Rosie did was walk
around in the tree munching on leaves. Rosie was sad because she wanted
to explore the world. She couldn't do much exploring stuck in the
tree all day. One day another caterpillar came into her tree,
Rosie was so excited to finally have a friend to join her. The older,
wiser caterpillar climbed up the tree and told her that she would be
able to explore the world soon. Rosie was so confused? How could she
possible explore the world stuck in a tree all day. She waited
patiently until one day, Spring arrived. The flowers began to bloom.
She had a funny feeling inside. She was spinning a chrysalis. She
didn't know what was happening, but she had remembered what the older,
wiser caterpillar told her. She became very excited. She
stayed in the chrysalis for several days until she came out as a
beautiful butterfly. Her dream had come true. She would get to
explore the world.
